World Series Of Poker Tv Times
Poker Tournaments and TV Coverage By Paul Mcguire: April 5, 2005 A few years ago, poker on TV was limited to only a couple of hours of coverage on American television every year. ESPN had such a low opinion of poker that they always aired the World Series from Las Vegas in the wee hours of the morning. It wasn’t even good enough to be on.

Since 1970, the bracelet events have occurred every year in Las Vegas. The inaugural WSOPE, held in 2007, marked the first time that a WSOP bracelet was awarded outside Las Vegas.

ESPN senior director Programming & Acquisitions Doug White said, “ESPN has a long-running relationship with the World Series of Poker, and we are always looking for ways to bring viewers the most preeminent coverage. By doubling down on our broadcast and digital platform coverage, we’re going to bring fans and viewers even closer to the sport’s biggest events from all aspects and angles.”
This year’s partnership between ESPN and Poker Central includes at least 40 hours of live WSOP coverage and an additional 130 hours of originally produced episodes. The WSOP broadcasts on ESPN will continue through 2020.
“We’re ecstatic that ESPN and Poker Central continue to raise the bar and deliver more live poker content to audiences across the globe.
